Finance Ministry has urged government employees to opt for the Unified Pension Scheme (UPS) before September 30 deadline to ensure smooth processing. Employees who choose to remain in NPS won't be able to switch to UPS after this date. UPS, introduced on April 1 as an option under NPS, has already been chosen by around 31,555 employees till July 20.
